Make a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file smaller, and get its pictures out SLIM
It is almost always the pictures. A phone photo pasted into a slide keeps all twelve megapixels whatever size it is shown at. They are scaled and saved again, and nothing else in the file is touched.

Pictures lose resolution and JPEG quality; nothing else in the document changes. A picture that would come out no smaller is left exactly as it was.

How it works
SLIM makes a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx smaller by doing to every picture at once what Office's Compress Pictures does: scaling it down to the size you choose, saving JPEGs again at the quality you choose, and turning photographs saved as PNG into JPEG. It also lists every picture in the file with a Save button. The file is rewritten in this tab and not uploaded.
Doing this often? OBSCURA Pro saves the smaller file from here, along with the result of every other tool outside the Workspace, and includes the paid applications. Everything is US$5 a month or US$48 a year, 7 days free.
