The sum is never what is paid. Some hours are a different rate because of when they happened, some because of how many there were, and the break came out of one of them.

An hour counted as weekend is not also counted as night; the weekend takes it. Overtime and the unsocial bands come off the plain hours first. Both of those are conventions, and they are stated here rather than hidden in the arithmetic.
