SCREENSHIELD

Before you share a screenshot, black out the parts that should not travel: a name, an address, an account number, a face. Load the image, drag boxes over anything private, and SCREENSHIELD paints or pixelates it right in your browser. Redacting is free, and so is downloading the clean copy.

Drag on the image to draw a redaction box. The black boxes and pixelation are baked into the image, they are not a layer that can be peeled off. Downloading also removes the original photo metadata.

SCREENSHIELD runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your image. Redaction is destructive: the covered pixels are replaced, so they cannot be recovered from the downloaded file, and re-exporting through the browser drops the original metadata (like where a photo was taken). Always double check the result covers everything before you share it. Pixelation is strong for faces and photos, but for text a solid black box is safer.
