Why a whole set
“A favicon” is really a spread: the tiny tab icon, the iPhone home-screen icon, the Android and PWA icons in the manifest, and a maskable one that survives being cropped to a circle. Miss the maskable one and Android clips your logo's corners; miss the manifest icons and an installed web app has no icon at all. ICONS renders them all from one image on your device and hands you the manifest and the HTML with them.
