A Transcript That Can Be Cited, Which Means Page and Line FOLIO
Every reference to a transcript is a page and a line. A block of text from a transcription tool has neither, so the citation cannot be given and the page breaks move on the next machine that prints it.

How it paginates
Lines break at spaces, never inside a word, because a citation that points at half a word is worse than a line that runs long. Blank lines are numbered too, so two printings of the same text cannot disagree about where line seventeen is.
