obscuraos.com is one person building free tools for independent workers. No investors, no roadmap committee, no growth team. This page is a running, honest account of how it actually works, updated as things change.
What obscuraos.com does not do
No backend database. There is no server storing your invoices, clients, or numbers; everything lives in your browser's local storage, on your device.
No account required, no signup, no email collection to use any tool.
No fabricated statistics. Every count or "since you started" number you see on this site is computed live from your own data, never from invented usage totals.
No selling of data, because there is no data collected to sell.
What that means in practice
Clear your browser storage or switch devices and your data is gone unless you used Backup & Restore first. That tradeoff is deliberate.
Nothing here can show you "team" features, because there is no shared server to sync through.
Ad revenue (Google AdSense) and a single $9/month Pro subscription (via Stripe) are the only ways this stays funded.
How it is built
Every tool is a static HTML page. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and deployed from a private GitHub repository. There is no framework, no build step most of the time, and no tracking pixels beyond what AdSense itself requires to serve ads.
What is next
Ideas that need real infrastructure, such as a verified freelancer directory, a shared job board, or partner integrations with banks or insurers, are intentionally on hold. Adding a backend or partner deals changes the privacy promise above, so those stay parked until there is a clear reason to make that tradeoff.
