Scan a QR code with your camera, and see where it goes first QRSCAN
The camera app reads a code and offers to open it in one tap. This reads it and stops, shows exactly what it says, and checks a link for the tricks fake codes use.

What it says
Nothing is opened until you press Open the link. A code stuck over the real one on a parking meter or a menu is the common trick: read the address before you go.
How it works
QRSCAN reads a QR code from your camera, a picture or a screenshot, shows its contents exactly, and checks a link for plain http, a hidden real address, a raw IP, a link shortener, lookalike characters and sign-in pages before anything is opened. It uses the browser's own reader where there is one and jsQR, served from this site, where there is not. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
How it reads
Where the browser has a reader of its own (Chrome and Edge on Android, macOS and ChromeOS), that is used, and it reads barcodes on products too. Everywhere else, jsQR reads the code, served from this site; it reads QR codes only. The camera’s picture stays in this tab: it is not recorded or sent, and the camera turns off when you leave the tab.
Links are checked the way QRSHIELD checks them. To make a code of your own, QRMAKER draws one.
