Your licence certificate

A commercial licence here is permission, not a switch. Nothing on this site checks it and nothing behaves differently once you have one, which is exactly why you need something on paper. This page turns a purchase into a certificate you can hand to a client, a procurement team, or your own files.

Your card statement and Stripe receipt are the proof of purchase. Fill this in to get the certificate that goes in the file.

Generate the certificate

Write it exactly as it should appear on the certificate. This is the name the licence is granted to.
The number of seats you paid for at checkout.
The receipt number is in the email Stripe sent you, at the top, next to the amount. It goes on the certificate so the two documents refer to each other.

The licence ID is derived from the name, the tier and the start date, so this page will always produce the same ID and the same certificate from the same three answers. Lose the file and you can make it again.

Where is the invoice?

Stripe issues it, not this page, because Stripe is what took the money and holds the tax details. Every licence emails you a receipt at checkout, and the yearly tiers generate a numbered invoice on each renewal. If finance needs a copy, or a VAT or GST number added, reply to that email and it can be reissued. If your organisation has to pay by bank transfer against an invoice rather than by card, write to [email protected] with the tier and the billing details and you will get one.

What the licence actually is

Permission, and nothing else. OBSCURA OS runs entirely inside your browser: it uploads no documents, keeps no account and stores nothing on a server. There is no key to enter and no switch to flip, and the software is identical before and after you buy. That is deliberate, and it is why a certificate exists at all. The licence is the record that a business paid for business use, and this is the page that turns it into a document somebody can file.

Personal use stays free, permanently, with no licence needed and nothing to declare. If you are using it for yourself, for a hobby, for study or for anything not commercial, you are already covered.
