How it works
A photo taken on a phone can carry the exact location it was taken, the camera or phone serial number and the time, and some carry a hidden second picture. CLOAK shows everything a photo is carrying, strips it, and lets you black out anything in the frame, such as a face, a number plate or a house number, so the redaction is burned into the pixels. Posting to a social network does not always remove this data.
