PALIMPSEST

PALIMPSEST tucks a text message into the pixels of an image. The picture looks exactly the same, but it quietly carries your note. You can also load an image someone sent you to read a hidden message, or to check whether one is there. Reading is free; hiding a message needs a Sovereign pass.

Please read: PALIMPSEST is obfuscation, not encryption, and not a way to slip anything past a scanner or a person. The hidden data is easy to detect with the right tools, and it is destroyed the moment the image is re-compressed, so always save and share the result as a PNG, never a JPEG, and expect most chat and social apps to strip it. For real secrecy, use encryption.

Hide a message

PALIMPSEST runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your image or message. It stores your text in the least significant bit of the image's colour channels, which is invisible to the eye but easy for software to find. Treat it as a way to watermark or playfully hide a note, not as protection for anything sensitive. Save the result as PNG so the hidden data survives.
