Moving and junk removal work carries overhead that doesn't show up in a simple hourly rate: vehicle maintenance, fuel, commercial auto insurance, and disposal fees at the dump or transfer station all have to be priced in.
A rate built purely on labor hours will consistently underprice this work. Calculate the volumetric cost of disposal and the transit distance for each job, not just the hours it takes to load and unload. Physical risk is also higher than most freelance work, rates need real padding for potential damage to client property, plus the cost of carrying premium liability insurance. A written estimate that spells out what's included, and a contract addressing damage liability, protects both sides before the truck shows up.
